Referral Support Service (RSS)

The Referral Support Service supports the management of referrals in Surrey from your GP practice to secondary care, supporting GPs with patient referral pathways and offering a choice of provider to patients where appropriate.

If your GP has referred you for further care with a healthcare professional who specialises in a particular area, this referral will go to our Referral Support Service, who will help with the next steps. The service is run by staff employed by NHS Surrey Heartlands – your local NHS.

Your referral will be reviewed by either a clinician or a member of our administrative support team, who have detailed knowledge of the local healthcare services that are available as well as local waiting times. The team are supported by GPs who also have expert knowledge of local services and can provide medical advice where needed to ensure you are referred to the right services.

Keeping your information secure
